Hi! I'm Julia

Knitting is my therapy and encompasses all my loves - science, maths and art, neatly wrapped into one beautiful craft.

A little about me...

My background is working as a graphic designer which I love. I worked in London for a few years before moving to Bristol, where I’ve been freelancing for over 15 years. I divide my time between graphic design, craft design and my family. If there’s a gene for knitting I’m sure I have it. I come from a long line of obsessive knitters. I learnt when I was a child and in my twenties my obsession kicked in.

I love the combination of maths, science and art that’s involved in designing a knitting pattern. It's fun making knitting look beautiful but I’m a really practical person and my designs have to function well too. This is how I got into designing baby shoes. I was fed up with socks falling off my young children's feet. I tried leather slip on shoes but the leather would go hard if they got wet. There are some fab crochet designs but my love is knitting, so I started designing modern patterns that would stay-on. They worked really well, I started gifting to friends to test and they loved them too, so here I am.
