‘Tom’ Stay-On Baby Shoe

The Tom baby shoe knits up like a sock and stays on like a shoe. It's an easy knit and a great design to play with colour and yarn. They're super cute and part of my stay-on shoe range. Your baby can kick, crawl, pull and they'll still have warm little toes! There are no fiddly ties, they slip on easily then the structured, elasticated ankle band keeps them on, while still being flexible and comfy.

Technical Detail

The pattern has been technically edited. This pattern knits up a bit like a sock,  knitted in the round. You will practise provisional cast on, knitting in the round and Kitchener stitch. There are photo tutorials for all of the techniques plus photo stitch guides. Blocking is advised to give a professional finish.

Suggested Needles

US 3/3.25mm double pointed needles OR 2 lots of 3.25mm 32in/80cm circular needles for magic loop method.

Notes

This pattern requires soft elastic for ankle casing.

Choosing Your Yarn

The pattern was designed using a Sport/5ply held double. When choosing your yarn look for a rough gauge of 25 stitches, 34 rows to 10cm. Ball weight examples would be 50g (1.75oz) to a length of 125m (137yds).
